Job Description

The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately recording and reconciling payments received from insurance companies and patients. This role ensures that all transactions are properly posted, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and financial records remain accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities

Post payments from insurance providers and patients into the system accurately and in a timely manner
Reconcile posted payments with remittance advice (EOBs/ERAs)
Identify and resolve discrepancies such as underpayments, overpayments, or denials
Ensure proper allocation of payments, adjustments, and write-offs
Maintain accurate and updated financial and patient records
Coordinate with billing and collections teams to address account issues
Generate reports related to payment posting and account status
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and company standards

Minimum Qualifications

At least college level or Associate’s / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work with sensitive financial and patient information confidentially
