The Order Specialist is responsible for gathering and updating patient documentation upon discharge from home care services, including completing discharge summaries for patients who have met their care goals or have been admitted to a hospital. This role ensures that patient records are accurate, complete, and properly prepared for physician review and signature. The Order Specialist also handles sensitive patient and company information with strict confidentiality and ensures all documentation is completed accurately and on time in compliance with healthcare privacy standards.
A. Education and Training
– At least a 3rd or 4th year college of any medical affiliated.
B. Skills and Qualifications
– Excellent Communication Skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a professional demeanor in interactions with patients and healthcare personnel.
– Tech-Savvy
Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR), healthcare management software, and other digital tools.
– Strong background to Medical Terminology
Confident and knowledgeable in medical terminology to support accurate documentation and effective communication.
– Flexible and Able to Multitask
Capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
– HIPAA Compliance
Fully aware of HIPAA regulations and committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient health information.
